The brick door first appeared in Submachine 2: The Lighthouse and was revisited in Submachine 5: The Root and Submachine 10: The Exit.

History[]

The reason for this wall is not known, let alone who built it and why, however it looks newer than the area surrounding it suggesting that it was built after the creation of the Root in 1904.

Submachine Universe[]

A second brick door has appeared in the Submachine Universe at coordinate 304. Although slightly different from the original brick door, it serves the same purpose - to bar the player from advancing further. In this case, it also seems to prevent the rubble in the buried lighthouse from overflowing into the underground section.

Two more locations in which a brick door is present are the research base (001) and the broken clock room (987). In 001, the brick door, once again, serves as a wall that keeps the player from travelling upwards to the Lab. In location 987, we see bricks that board up a window with the clue to Murtaugh's communication room. This also presumably serves the same purpose as the other ones.

Submachine 10[]

The door is partially buried by resin in Submachine 10.
