The subnet editing center is a location in Submachine Universe.

Architecture

This area has four rooms displaying typical architecture of the defense system corridors. One has the portal; to the left there is a room with four ventilation fans and a open door. In the leftmost room there is a terminal bank with 9 screens in a 3x3 grid. To the right of the portal is another set of four fans that are twisted and broken by a karma portal leading to the rabbit hole. A broken propeller blade lies on the ground that can be picked up by the player.

In the leftmost room, the screens on the edges, when hovered over in order, display the words (clockwise from the top left) BEGIN RIGHT, 9 RIGHT, 8 DOWN, 7 DOWN, END LEFT, LEFT, UP, UP. This clues to the broken clock room.

The central screen shows "Subnet Editing Theory" by Sub-Program 32. When the "orig" protocol is changed to "alt", the theory becomes the "Murtaugh Editing Theory" by Program-Sub 23. This is not a different theory, but is simply the "Subnet Editing Theory" with some words changed around in order to emphasize the point of the theory.
